Get Lost in the Mystery of Easter
Island
Easter Island is a remote, tiny island nestled in the Pacific that is
shrouded in wonder and mystery due to the monolithic stone heads that
can be found all over. Island life here coincides with a small town
feel that starts with a warm reception at the only airport on the
island. Although there are moai all over, there is much more to see
and do on Easter Island.

Visit Rano Raraku National Park
No trip to Easter Island is complete without a visit to Rano Raraku
National Park, home to almost half of all the moai on the island. You
can walk the winding roads through the park and get up close to the
stone heads sticking out of the ground. Some of the most famous moai
can be found here along with the largest of them all. You can also
make a stop at the Rano Raraku volcano and its crater where you may
also come across roaming wild horses that stop at the lagoon for a
drink of water. To get here, rent a car for the day which you can
also use to visit some other sites on the island that aren’t as
easy to reach.

Impressive Views at Ahu Tongariki
If you rent a car for a day, make Ahu Tongariki one of your stops.
This remote area on the island is also one of the most famous thanks
to its postcard views. This area is home to 15 moai standing side by
side with incredible ocean views behind them. While it makes for an
impressive site any time of the day, watching the sunrise behind
the moai is a must. Since the sun doesn’t rise early on the
island, you don’t even have to struggle to get up super early in
the morning.

Take in the Sun at Anakena Beach
Anakena beach is the most popular beach to visit during a visit to
Easter Island, and with good reason. The white sand beach, statuesque
palm trees, and clear blue water make it the perfect lounging spot
for those looking for a beach vacation. The beach is a bit small, but
it’s perfect for the number of visitors this spot gets. Anakena is
thought to be the site of the first settlement on the island, making
it an important landmark as well. If moai are what you’re after,
there are even more at Anakena.
